CLASS II
Intrduction of Lasercutter & How to design on Rhinocero5
Introduction of Lasercutter
The Mechanism of Lasercutter
...
Basic Parameter of Lasercutter
Laser settings assigned to colors
Power: How much power the laser outputs.
Speed: How fast the laser head is traveling.
PPI: Some times called frequency, it is the pulse of the laser, in other words, how rapid the laser fires.
Operation Pipeline
raster engraving vs vector scoring
raster engraving: Any shape filled in black will be engraved (text, shapes, bitmaps). The disposition of the parts that will be engraved is important in order to reduce cutting time (when engraving, laser swings left to right and moves bottom to top)
vector scoring: It is like cutting, but the laser is set to a lower power and faster speed.
2D Computer Aided Design
Rhino's user interface
There's are a lot of functions in the control panel to play with.
raster vs vector image
Vector image is not affcted by resolution. Be cautious to use raster image to draw lines. The lasercutter will cut back and forth for many times and brings the risk of fire.
