Standards and problems in soldering

This goona be challenging since I never soldered before. After seeing how other students working on it and hearing the instructions from Saverio, I start my job!

soldering pipeline

  • press the solder on the joint of the pin and board for around 5 seconds. Heat up the joints.
  • press tin from another side of the joint. When melting, press harder and stop when the shiny silver ball looks big enough to cover the whole joint.
  • Take away the tin first and let the melted tin expand aroung the soldering part until it becomes a intact cone.
  • remove solder and move to next one

This is the second line of soldering I did in my life and looks definitely neater and better than that on my first line.

I accidentally broke the copper traits by solder and the solution is to expand tin to a line to connect pins.

There're still bugs yet I can't find. Saverio helped to resoldered every joints and looks even better. He told me the tin should cover every hole to have a good connection.

My first blinking board!
