How do I make this stuff?

I downloaded this model from thingiverse

After import this model into rhinoceroes, Saverio Silli taught me to use the function 'Contour'the extract the one layer of plane from the this complicated model.

ThenI take out the component of the model, including the inside gears and the outside gear. And I decided this part to be wodden and use lasercutter to cut out the shape of gears and the wooden holder.

This module is designed to be built by 3D printer and the protruding parts are sed to connect with the wooden holder. The stick is for rotating the gears.
